Templates

When you use the "Convert to Template" option on an existing invoice or create a new template from the templates area, you are given a template. Templates are similar to invoices, however, the purpose they serve is different. Templates are helpful when you want to create a basic style for a frequently use type of invoice, and from which you can then use the template to make future invoices.

Unlike usual invoices, templates cannot be associated with an individual contact, and as such customer details won't be added and the invoice can't be sent. Instead, when you save the template or go to use the template, you can then do the following additional actions:

Use one time - This creates a draft base invoice where you’ll be able to modify the details and send it to a client.

Use recurring - This creates a draft recurring invoice where you’ll be able to modify the details and schedule the recurring invoice.
