Template documents are documents that have either been created originally as templates, or which were created based off an existing document.
Template documents are similar to documents, with the exception that they cannot be associated with a singular contact and that they can be used to create regular documents, copying all the content and settings from the template version.
With a templated document, you can do the following actions:
View - This takes you into the template where you can make edits to your template. Editing a template is similar to editing a normal document, with the exception that it can’t be associated with a contact.
Publish - Creates a public link to the template, allowing you to share links for contacts to sign that template document, without assigning the template to any singular contact.
Delete - This removes the template.
Use template - This creates a draft based on the template that you can assign a recipient to and send the document to that recipient. The draft copies all the elements, settings, and content of the template.
Clone - Create a duplicate template of your original template.
Public documents are documents that are not associated with a singular contact, but instead contain language that is more generic and which multiple users can go in, read it over, and agree/sign the document.
This is useful for documents that can be more generalized and that don’t need to be customized for an individual contact’s needs, such as waivers.
Public Documents can be created using the Publish action and shared by using the link that is then generated.
